Meet Alexis
Alexis grew up in Pensacola, Florida with her mom and 3 brothers. While growing up, she enjoyed playing sports like many young girls. Her whole life changed in 10th grade when she found out she was pregnant. Teen pregnancy was not unfamiliar to her since she had a couple of friends with kids but, she knew she didn’t want to go through the struggle of being a teenager and providing for a child.
"I Googled, where to have an abortion – it popped up right away, so I called and scheduled my appointment."
At 16-years old, Alexis received an abortion. 7 years later, she still felt the weight of her decision but wasn’t sure why. One day at church, she realized that she had been suppressing the healing that needed to happen before she could move forward.
"When I look back, seeing that positive pregnancy test at age 16 was one of the hardest moments of my life."
She knew God had forgiven her for her choice but, she had never sought healing from God. Now, Alexis has 2 healthy baby girls. She wasn’t informed about her options when she was 16 and her hope is that people will make an informed decision when deciding what to do when they are facing an unexpected pregnancy.
