Meet Aoasha
Aoasha grew up in a small town in rural Alabama. Her mom was a single parent so she had the responsibility of helping out her siblings at a young age. At age 16, Aoasha was kicked out of her house and over the next few years, she had two kids with her boyfriend.
"Life with 2 kids proved to be more difficult than I imagined, even with the father in the picture."
With her boyfriend in and out of work they struggled to make ends meet. They were living in a trailer with one bed and one couch. Eventually, Aoasha ended up pregnant for a 3rd time, this time with a different man.
"Getting pregnant, I didn’t want to start something new, I was just trying to escape where I was at."
Aoasha moved into a group home called Lifeline Village. Living there gave her the realization that she wanted more out of life. Aoasha chose to place her baby for adoption to a loving family because she believed she couldn’t give him the life he deserved.
