With two young children already to care for, Aosha chose to place her baby boy for adoption because she knew she couldn’t give him the life he deserved.
UNEXPECTED; SHAME PREGNANCY OPTION
Meet Kenesha
Kenesha grew up in Alabama with parents that struggled with drugs, alcohol, and gambling addictions. At age 15, she was kicked out of her house and moved in with a mentor and his wife. Within 6 months, she had been sexually assaulted by him and found out she was pregnant.
"I remember never having a consistent place to stay at night."
Kenesha had arranged for a friend to take her to a clinic to get an abortion. When her friend had to cancel, she began looking into other options. Eventually, Kenesha moved into a maternity home and chose to place her baby for adoption.
"For the first time in my life, I focused on my safety and my health at the maternity home."
15 years later, Kenesha decided it was time to reach out to the adoptive parents of her first baby. After a few years of back and forth letters, they arranged a meeting with the adoption agency. What started out as terror for Kenesha has turned to relief knowing her baby boy was placed with and raised by a safe and loving family.
“You don’t have to do this alone, there are people willing to walk with you no matter what your choice is.”
