Meet Kesha
Raised in a home surrounded by physical and emotional neglect, Kesha remembers it always being tough. At the age of 15, she unexpectedly got pregnant.
"When I found out I was pregnant, I don’t think I was old enough to comprehend what it meant."
At 15, Kesha went from being an 8th grader who was carefree to a parent. Kesha decided to keep her baby and raise it on her own with the support of her boyfriend (now husband.) Looking back, she didn’t realize how key it was to have someone by her side to help support her.
"Watching her kids grow up, learn to walk, learn to talk – Experiencing life with them – that's what it’s about."
Kesha remembers it being hard but, so worth it to make the decision to parent her baby. Kesha sacrificed some of her future dreams at age 15 to prioritize loving and supporting her baby. Now, over 30 years later, she gets to enjoy watching her grandkids grow up in a loving environment.
